(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Lawrenceburg Main Street, Inc. will give an update on the progress of a planned downtown event center Wednesday.
The City of Lawrenceburg and Hollywood Casino owner Penn National Gaming are partnering to build and operate the $40 million event center, hotel, and restaurants at the corner of Walnut and High streets.
City and casino officials broke ground on the project in October. While no significant physical work has been done at the site since, city leaders have been organizing preparations for construction.
The Main Street annual meeting takes place on the 4th floor of Ivy Tech Community College in Lawrenceburg. The public is welcome to attend.
There will be appetizers from Lawrenceburg Main Street restaurants and networking starting at 5:00. The meeting will begin at 5:20 as director Pat Krider gives an annual report, previews the organization’s plans for 2012, updates progress on the event center, and debuts the new Main Street website. Prizes will be awarded to those in attendance at 5:50 p.m.
