Full Day Kindergarten Comes To S-D Schools

(St. Leon, Ind.) – Full-day kindergarten has been approved at each elementary school in Sunman-Dearborn Community Schools.

Each public school district in the state can offer full-day kindergarten free of cost to families after lawmakers approved full funding earlier this year.

On Thursday, the school board voted 5-1 to approved offering the option of day long classes for tots.

Sunman-Dearborn Superintendent Dr. Jeff Hendrix says elementary principals are currently contacting parents who have registered for half-day and offering the full day option.

Any parent interested in having their child register for the full day program starting in the 2012-2013 school year can contact any of the district’s elementary schools.
