(Mount Carmel, Ind.) – Heavy rains and thunderstorms rocked the tri-state Tuesday afternoon and evening.
There was a possible tornado touchdown in eastern Franklin County at about 6:00. People captured photos and videos of a funnel cloud along State Road 252 near the town of Mount Carmel.
There are no reports of injuries or major property damage. National Weather Service meteorologists may visit the site as soon as Wednesday to confirm whether the funnel touched down.

The weather service says rainfall in some local areas totaled 3.5 inches.
Part of Sand Run Road in Bright was washed out. Motorists report the road is open.
U.S. 50 in Lawrenceburg flooded as did many other streets, including Probasco Street in Greendale. Flooding on Interstate 74 westbound near the Ohio 128 exit in Whitewater Township was closed the highway for a time as the rain came down.
Most of the tri-state saw flood watches and warnings expire early Wednesday morning, but Hamilton County is still under a Flood Warning right now.
Franklin County Schools have been put on a two-hour delay due to high water, debris, and road damage.
Wednesday will bring much calmer and warmer weather, mostly sunny with a high near 87. The forecast does not call for more rain until Friday afternoon when a 30 percent chance of rain and storms arises.
