(Aurora, Ind.) – Dearborn County is among 11 Indiana communities to share in $75,000 in new tourism grants.
The Indiana Office of Tourism Development is awarding the funds to expand, develop, and market thematic trails which show off the unique aspects of communities. The grant was inspired by the success of the state’ wine trails and Pete Dye Golf Trail.
The Dearborn County Convention and Visitors Bureau applied for the grant for the Windows of Aurora city tour. The project will receive $5,313 for marketing purposes.
"These trails will connect visitors to areas that showcase Indiana's culture, arts and heritage," Lt. Governor Becky Skillman said. "We know that visitors are attracted to areas that offer a unique experience, and these grants will certainly aid in that effort."
